Guest stay
at the Europa-Kolleg Hamburg
The Europa-Kolleg Hamburg offers academics in law, economics or political science the opportunity to support their research projects with a research stay at the Institute for European Integration. The research projects of the guest researchers should fit into one of the thematic fields currently being pursued at the Institute for European Integration:
- Deepening, expansion and association
- European Single Market
- European human rights protection
- Economic governance in the eurozone
- European competition policy
- Constitution and administration of the EU
- Theory and politics of cohesion
- Aligning competition rules in the new and future member states with Union law
The Europa-Kolleg provides guest researchers with a fully equipped workplace. During their stay, the guest researchers are involved in the activities of the institute. The research work of young academics and doctoral students is supervised by a member of the Institute for European Integration during their stay. Visiting researchers are expected to be prepared to present their projects for discussion in a research seminar. The results of the research stay should be reflected in a publication in the institute's own series of discussion papers and/or in an external journal.
It is possible to book an apartment in the foundation's own building for the duration of the guest stay. Early booking is recommended.
Applications for a research stay can be submitted informally at any time. Applications must be accompanied by a curriculum vitae and a brief, precise outline of the research project to be carried out during the stay at the Institute for European Integration, as well as details of the intended period of stay.
