Overview of the book
The approximation of competition rules to Union law as well as the creation of appropriate administrative structures is a particular challenge for the countries of Central and Eastern Europe in the context of the accession process or the EU’s Neighborhood Policy after long years of planned economies.
This study is devoted to the harmonization of Turkish antitrust law with EU law on the basis of the association agreements between Turkey and the EU. Comparative analysis is made of the prohibition of cartels, the prohibition of abuse of dominant position as well as merger control including the practice of application and their compatibility with the Union rules as interpreted by the Commission and the ECJ.
This is a comprehensive academic study of Turkish antitrust law at the current state of legal development. It is an excellent source of information for practitioners.
