The 24-month Master Programme European Legal Studies and International Economic Law is a joint programme of St. Petersburg State University and the University of Hamburg operated by the Europa-Kolleg Hamburg in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce Hamburg and is both a product of the cooperation between the two universities, as well as the partnership between the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and St. Petersburg.
The aim of the programme is to prepare highly qualified students from the EU and Russia for a broad range of careers connected to the business and legal aspects of EU-Russian trade and cooperation.
The Master Programme further allows for students to optimize their knowledge of legal German and legal English. Upon graduation students receive a joint master certificate, a joint transcript of records and a joint diploma supplement which are recognized as equally valid.


The Master Programme is divided into eight sections which shall be implemented either in Hamburg (Sections 1, 2, 4 and 5) or Saint Petersburg (Sections 6 to 8) or elsewhere depending on the choice of the student (Section 3):
