Since 2017, the Europa-Kolleg Hamburg has been cooperating with the Bundeskanzler-Helmut-Schmidt-Stiftung. In this video, we present our joint activities. The core topics of our cooperation are the external relations of the European Union, especially with regard to transatlantic relations. We are particularly interested in bringing together young academics with outstanding researchers and politicians and in stimulating interdisciplinary research.

In this context, international conferences entitled “The Future of Transatlantic Relations” (FOTAR) took place in 2018 and 2020. This series of conferences will continue in 2022. In September 2021, the conference “Worlds together, worlds apart?”, conceived by our Scholar-in-Residence drew a connecting line between the process of German reunification and European integration.

The cooperation between the Europa-Kolleg Hamburg and the Chancellor Helmut Schmidt Foundation is supported by a generous grant from the Hamburg Ministry of Science, Research, Equality and Districts.
